Covid-19 and the PPE necessary to stop transmission has created a significant waste problem. Around 53 million single-use face masks were being used in the UK each day* at the height of the 2021 pandemic peak, and finding a way of turning an environmental burden into a manufacturing resource is top of the Denroy Group agenda. Denman’s sister company, DenPro already manufactures FFP3 masks and is now exploring options on how to best recycle used masks.

The packaging from a packet of crisps can take up to eight decades to decompose once it ends up in the landfill but by repurposing it, the crisp packet project have come up with a way to turn those salty snacks into survival blankets and paired them with other essential items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand warmers, deodorant, hats and gloves etc. Denman are always
looking for ways to help others so we were quick to donate Denman Hairbrushes to be included in these kits. They were then dropped off at the Simon Community
in Belfast & directly given to people in need.

The Lions Barber Collective is an international collection of top barbers who have come together to help raise awareness for the prevention of suicide and offers education and support to help barbers create shop environments that are a safe space for their clients to open up and take the first steps towards getting help which is why it has become Denman’s charity of choice for 2022. Denman has sponsored education, pop-up events and key activities across the year supplied branded D3 Original Styler brushes to help create awareness of this wonderful charity. PLUS we have donated a percentage of sales from every tool sold from the new professional barber range, Jack Dean by Denman. 

The Prince's Trust is dedicated to giving more young people the
opportunity to create better futures through employment, education and enterprise. They promise to help those facing the greatest adversity onto a pathway to employment, while strengthening their network of opportunity and support for young people to give them the best chance of success in years to
come no matter if they have been facing some serious issues such as homelessness or being in trouble with the law. Denman are passionate about supporting young people and nurturing their talents, so when we heard the
Prince’s Trust was offering the course ‘Get started in Afro Caribbean Hair’, a guide to natural hair care, we were more than happy to donate a selection of free brushes for every attendee. Denman hairbrushes are great for Natural hair whether it’s curly, coily, afro or anything in-between so the attendees
were able to leave the course with the skills and the best tools for the job.

CRADLE Charity is a national pregnancy loss charity working with the NHS to support anyone affected by pregnancy loss. Denman provides sponsorship and products to CRADLE for their Comfort Bags to more than 45 NHS hospitals. These are filled with essential toiletries made available to women or couples receiving care, during or following pregnancy loss.

The Denroy Group has donated £500 towards the Ukraine crisis. Further to this, 10,000 end-of-line combs have been sent to the Samaritans NI. This has been sent along with donations made independently by our team.

Blind Aid offers a volunteer network, community projects, and social gatherings for the blind and partially sighted. Martyn Wady recently worked alongside Session Stylist Anna Cafone to deliver a haircare and style workshop to the group's blind and partially sighted members. The emphasis was on using their hands to style their hair to their liking. This was a Denman representative's first in-person event with Blind Aid, although hope fully not the last!
